Top Americans Set To Compete

Caty McNally, Whitney Osuigwe, and US Olympic Team Member Coco Vandeweghe to Compete in the RBC Pro Challenge, and October 29th to be declared Coach John Peterson Day by the City

Player Field The RBC Pro Challenge, an $80,000 women's USTA Pro Circuit event that is presented by Oak Creek and hosted at Tyler Athletic and Swim Club features an incredibly strong player field this year. Multiple players have made their mark on the WTA Tour and will showcase their talent on the courts of Tyler, Texas next week.

CoCo Vandeweghe, 27, comes to Tyler after an injury sidelined her for the past 12+ months. The RBC Pro Challenge is one of CoCo’s first few appearances back on the USTA Pro Circuit. At the 2017 US Open, CoCo upset world No. 1 Karolina Pliskova in the quarterfinals. Coco won the 2018 US Open doubles title with Ashleigh Barty and represented the U.S. in the 2016 Rio Olympics in women’s doubles.

Meanwhile young Americans Whitney Osuigwe and Caty McNally, who faced off against each other in the quarterfinals of the 2018 tournament, are amongst the youngest players in the top 200. McNally reached the second round of the US Open, where she faced Serena Williams, becoming the first player to win a set against Williams in the second round of the US Open; She reached the third round of the tournament in doubles with Coco Gauff. The 3rd annual RBC Pro Challenge matches will begin Monday, October 28th and run through until Sunday, November 3rd.
