World No. 74 Renata Zarazua Headlines Main Draw Acceptance Roster
Tyler, Texas (October 18, 2024) – The Christus Health Pro Challenge, a $100K USTA Pro Circuit Event held at Tyler Athletic & Swim Club October 21-27, 2024, has announced the 2024 main draw player acceptance list.
World No. 74 Renata Zarazua (MEX) holds the top spot in the draw. Mexico’s No. 1 player made her US Open debut this year, where she would upset 28th seed Caroline Garcia in the opening round. Most recently, Zarazua took home a W75 victory in Templeton, CA, dropping just one set during the whole tournament.
The field also features a talented group of Americans, including top 200 players Usue Maitane Arconada and Hanna Chang, followed closely by former world No. 58 Louisa Chirico.
Canadian Marina Stakusic will round out the top half of the player list. In 2023, the 19-year-old was named to the Canada Billie Jean King Cup team, where she won three of her four singles matches and helped bring Canada their first victory in the competition. Stakusic has maintained a strong record in 2024, most recently upsetting world No. 12 Jelena Ostapenko in Guadalajara last month.
Notably, the 2024 Christus Health Pro Challenge is included in the Australian Open Wild Card Challenge, which tallies points across professional tournaments to award an American man and woman a main draw wild card into the 2025 Australian Open. The women's wild card will be awarded to the American with the most ranking points earned at a maximum of three tournaments between September 30 through the week of October 21.
