Strong Entry List Released for 80K Bellatorum Resources Pro Classic


US Open Quarterfinalists Rogers (USA) and Putintseva (KAZ) Earn Top Seeds; Bouchard (CAN) to Compete in Qualifying


Tyler, TX (October 14, 2020) – The Bellatorum Resources Pro Classic, an $80K women’s USTA Pro Circuit event, will feature a strong player field this year. Numerous players have posted strong outcomes in the recent US Open and French Open Grand Slams and will showcase their talent at Tyler Athletic and Swim Club in less than two weeks.

Top American seed Shelby Rogers, currently ranked No. 59 in the world, will return to Tyler for the second time. Since she last competed in 2019, Rogers has posted strong finishes on the WTA circuit, most notably reaching the 2020 US Open quarterfinals before falling to eventual champion Naomi Osaka.

Fellow American Caty McNally will also return to Tyler for her second appearance since 2018 after reaching Round of 16 in Doubles at the French Open with partner Coco Gauff. The 18 year-old currently holds world singles and doubles rankings of 119 and 42, respectively.

Top seed and career-high world No. 27 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan will compete in Tyler after falling in a three-set, Round of 64 loss at Roland Garros.

The American competitor pool is rounded out by Kristie Ahn and Ann Li. Li, a 2017 Wimbledon Junior runner-up, and Ahn, the Tyler champion in 2017, will both be returning for their third appearance.

The Qualifying draw is headlined by 2018 Tyler Champion and 2019 Quarterfinalist Whitney Osuigwe, former world No. 5 Eugenie Bouchard and American Varvara Lepchenko who held a career-high ranking of 19 in 2012.

Qualifying matches for the 2020 Bellatorum Resources Pro Classic will begin at 10am CT on Monday, October 26, with Main Draw matches set to start at 10am CT on Tuesday, October 27.
