Day 1 Tournament Preview


Bellatorum Resources Pro Classic Set to Begin with Singles Qualifying Matches


Tyler, TX (October 25, 2020) – The Bellatorum Resources Pro Classic, an $80K USTA Pro Circuit event, will begin with singles qualifying rounds on Monday morning at 10:00am CST at Tyler Athletic and Swim Club. The draw is led by #1 seed and world No. 149 Renata Zarazua, who recently qualified for the 2020 French Open before falling in a second round three-setter to Elina Svitolina. Zarazua will face Naomi Broady in the first round, who has climbed as high as No. 76 in the world in 2016.


Americans in the Qualifying rounds include Chloe Henderson, Maria Mateas, Emma Navarro, Jamie Loeb, Peyton Stearns, Allura Zamarripa, Charlotte Chavatipon, Amy Zhu, Catherine Harrison, Reese Brantmeier and Alycia Parks. Brantmeier, Zhu, Chavatipon and Henderson are wild cards, in addition to Zamarripa who earned her spot in the Tyler Wild Card tournament two weeks ago.


The singles draw is rounded out by #2 seed Clara Tauson, who fell in second round of Qualifying at last week’s W80 in Macon, GA, shortly after qualifying and reaching the second round of the 2020 French Open. The 17 year-old will face American Maria Mateas, their first meeting to date.


Matches will be played on Courts 1, 2, 7 and Center Court, beginning at 10:00am. Both first and second round matches will be played tomorrow before the Doubles Qualifying and Main Draw matches begin on Tuesday, October 26, at 10:00am CST.
