City of Tyler Issues Proclamation for “John Peterson Day”

Former Tyler Junior College Tennis Coach John Peterson, whose teams won a combined 25 national championships in his 24 years at Tyler Junior College, will be honored Tuesday evening, October 29th following the evening match at the RBC Pro Challenge for his contributions to the sport of tennis in Tyler and East Texas. Martin Heines, City of Tyler Mayor, has issued a proclamation naming October 29, 2019, “John Peterson Day.” Linda Sellers, City Councilman for the district Tyler Athletic and Swim Club is located, will read and present the proclamation. Current TJC Head Men’s and Women’s Head Coach Dash Connell will share personal remarks about John Peterson.

· Following 5:30PM evening match (approx. 6:30pm with a Players’ Party to follow – Media invited)
